Dubai Luxury Hotels – See the Sights and Stay in Style

Dear sweet visitor,

Staying at a Dubai international hotel is at the top of the wish list for many travelers. Dubai is located on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf. It is one of the seven emirates and has the highest population, as well as the second largest area, of any city of the United Arab Emirates.

Its revenue comes mostly from tourism, real estate, and financial services. Due to the high volume of tourists, Dubai luxury hotels are some of the finest in the world.

Dubai has a hot climate that fluctuates between arid and humid as it lies directly within the Arabian Desert. Much of Dubai’s landscape is made of fine, white sand, contrary to the predominance of gravel deserts in much of the country. The land ranges from large, red-tinted dunes in the east, to flat sandy desert in the west.

Before the days of Dubai luxury hotels, the town served as a significant port of call for tradesmen, especially those from India. It was widely known for its pearl exports until the industry was damaged by World War I and the Great Depression.

Following the discovery of oil, the population of Dubai grew by approximately 300 percent. Now, scores of travelers visit each year to see the desert landscape and stay in a Dubai international hotel.

Dubai has recently attracted widespread attention through its real estate and sporting events. Even the Dubai luxury hotels themselves have been known to bring in visitors. Among professional sports showcased in Dubai, are tennis, golf, and horseracing.

The city hosts the annual Dubai Tennis Championships, the Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament, and the Dubai World Cup for horseracing. All of these events attract major sports stars from all over the world.

The city also has a very lively music scene. Several international superstars have played there including: Aerosmith, Elton John, Coldplay, Celine Dion, Shakira, and Santana. Dubai is also well known for its nightlife and has been noted as one of the top travel choices for a party vacation. However, due to liquor laws, most clubs and bars are found within hotels. Thus, a Dubai international hotel is often entertainment in itself.

Because Dubai has always been considered a significant port, the city is rich in history. A trip to the Hatta Village or Dubai Heritage Village will give you more insight to Dubai’s past maritime, pearl diving traditions and architecture. Another must see is the Dubai Museum in Al Fahidi Fort, the last Bedouin architecture surviving today. And a trip to the old Bastakiya District will give you a glimpse of Dubai in the olden days.
